Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting

If you love strawberries like we do then you are going to love this strawberry cream cheese frosting. It has a secret ingredient that makes this creamy frosting burst with fresh strawberry flavor.

The secret ingredient, freeze dried strawberries, adds an incredible amount of real strawberry flavor to this already delicious cream cheese frosting.


This frosting comes together quickly. It's the perfect frosting for my strawberry cupcakes and also great on cakes, cookies, breads or as a filling.

Ingredients


  • cream cheese (8oz block, room temperature)

  • 1/2 cup butter (salted, softened)

  • 1 cup strawberries (freeze dried)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp strawberry extract

  • 3 cups confectioners sugar


Directions


  1. In a food processor add freeze dried strawberries, chop to a fine powder, leaving a few larger pieces for color.

  2. In a large bowl cream together butter and cream cheese with an electric hand or stand mixer. Beat on high until fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes.

  3. Add vanilla extract and strawberry extract and mix until combined.

  4. Sift in half the confectioners sugar, beat until combined, scrape down the sides of bowl as needed. Repeat with the other half of the confectioners sugar.

  5. Pour in freeze dried strawberry dust and beat on low until just combined.

  6. Pipe or spread on cupcakes and enjoy
